Hello, I just started my first class Bikram Yoga last week. I went back for my second class yesterday. I noticed that when the instructor asked us to sit Japanese style in between our heels, I could not sit until my bottom hit the floor or the front of my ankles and the archilles heels started to hurt a lot. This is the pose where the teacher will ask you to bend backward after you sit like that, until you lay flat with your head touching the floor. I could not do it at all. I was wondering what I should do to ease myself into this pose so I can eventually do it. Do I practice sitting on something soft like a couch because that hurts less.
Also I saw several people sweating so much that their sweat was pooling around them outside their yoga mats on the carpetted floor. I wonder how the studio sanitize the carpet after so much sweat from so many people got on the floor. How often does the sanitization occur usually? Daily? After each class? Weekly?
