Hello,

My question is about the hot yoga poses time sheet. It shows the columns of set-1 and set-2. I’ll start with the standing poses, is it like in set-1, we start with Pranayam and do all the poses and stop at tree pose then again in set-2 start with pranayam and do all the poses and end at toe stand? Then comes savasana and the wind removing pose and do all the floor poses up to kapalabhati then again in set-2 do wind removing pose and do all the poses till intense stretching pose but this time not the Half spine twist and do kapalabhati.

The way I do Hot yoga is like I do all the standing poses doing every pose twice with just one set of parnayam and the lying poses doing every pose twice and I do 4 sets of kapalabhati.

I have never done Hot yoga in a heated room just the way it is done. I do it a closed room and get the amount of sweat nearly same as I have seen people do it in a heated room. I know yoga so it was easier to switch to hot yoga and the techniques taught by Gabrielle on Hotyogadoctor.com have helped me to make the poses gracefully and it has improved my balance in all the leg poses.

Thank you,

Naheed

Hi Naheed - yes if you have never completed a class in a studio I can see why that table would be confusing!

Easy answer: If there are TWO sets of a pose, they are usually practiced as the second one immediately after the first.

And in the case of Toe Stand, it is practiced immediately after Tree Pose; or if Toe Stand is not possible (I don’t practice this for example due to a knee issue), then simply take a second set of Tree Pose.

Thanks for the feedback - I’ll pass it on to Gabrielle!

Namaste
