hey i just did hot yoga for the first time yesterday. im 5"6 and 115 pounds. im wondering if i do hot yoga 5 - 7 days a week, if it will tone my body. Im pretty thin and i have very thin legs and arms, but all my weight goes to my midsection. I feel like my body is unproportionate, and want to know if hot yoga will give me a flatter, more toned stomach and build muscle in my arms and legs. I also take a weight training class on thursdays and an ‘abs butts and thighs’ class on sunday. Do i need to include cardio in fittnesss routine? let me know what you think.
Thank you
much love
Tara

Hi Tara

I hope that you have had some time to look around the forum to discover you are doing the right thing and you have come to the right place.

In case you haven’t yet searched here, you could start by reading some other threads. I used the search facility to find many with the word “cardio”. Use any search term you like.

Here’s the link to a great video that will help you around your mid-section:

Flatten Your Tummy And Strengthen Your Back. I have had amazing reports from people using this for several minutes daily/several times per week.

If you go to hot yoga 5 times per week even without the other forms of exercise you should be able to get your outcomes!

Thank you gabrielle. also what about diet? what types of foods should i be eating. i try to eat many fruits and vegetables. i also eat meat though and carbs. i try not to eat fast food or candy. i eat whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread. is that alrght? i sometimes eat penutbutter and jelly sandwiches and i try to eat everrything organic. what would be an example of what i should eat per day to get my results with hot yoga 5 - 6 days a week. Thank you so much. i love your site. <3

Hi Tara

I would be very surprised if you didn’t find your eating habits have evolved of their own accord over the next little while. If you truly need some help in 2 weeks, come back and ask. If not, come back in any case and tell us how you’re going. My guess is that you will be pleasantly surprised at the changes and how you feel in your body.

Bikram toned my body all over.  My eating habits also changed without any real thought on my part.  It just happened.  I was already in pretty good shape when I started, but I saw some very real results after about 1-2 months.
