Effective breathing in Hot Yoga can transform your practice, deepen your poses – but wait – much more than that, it can make a spectacular difference to your life!

This 19 minute video gives you the low-down on something we all do but often take for granted.

And who could blame you? For most breathing is an automatic function. So what do you have to do, what techniques can you use, to take your awareness to your breath and improve your yoga practice and your life.

Years of emotional baggage and stresses take their toll and you can develop habits that are not supporting you in living the best life that you can.

This video will help you understand:

  • How breathing causes a physiological calming of your system which in turn has you feeling less stressed
  • How to bridge the Pranayama breathing exercise at the beginning of class to ensure proper breathing technique for the rest of class
  • How to know what noises you should be making in order to be breathing correctly
  • How to feel more vital, generally!
  • The scientific principles that you can use to fill your lungs more deeply than you ever have before

The techniques and skills described link beautifully with the posture techniques described in the first video of this series (”Elbows in your back pockets”).

Breathing is a skill you can work on, and use to enhance every aspect of your life. Get conscious, get the best out of every breath!

Hello again my Yogi friend!

This 8 minute instructional video will add volumes to your yoga practice – hot or not.

Why?

Because I give you a very successful and quick technique to help build your “core strength” without the danger of repetitive sit-ups or stomach curls.

Do this technique before each class and you’ll be amazed at how much stronger you feel!

More importantly, building your core strength has long-lasting benefits:

  • Protecting your back in any kind of lifting
  • Keeping you more “youthful” as you age
  • Preventing embarrassing conditions such as incontinence (men and women) and prostate issues (men)
  • Restoring strength after having children (um … women)

In the video I show you the cheap and easy equipment you’ll need; I demonstrate the technique … and show you how to avoid “classic mistakes”.

I hope you love this technique as much as I do!

We’ve been learning tons about making these videos more accessible and Robert reckons he’s found a better format that should stop any slow or overly choppy streaming, so let us know how it goes this time around. I REALLY wanted to show the technique on a bigger screen – but if there is a problem, we’ll post a smaller file on the low-res page. If for some reason you still have trouble viewing, we’ve now added mp3 audio files for easy download to your iPods!

And here are the downloadable versions:

Great posture from the ground up

Hello again

Who would have thought that high heels and yoga would go together?

Well, I invite you to watch this video and find out just how true this is.

Sometimes our feet are overlooked (no pun intended!). And I want to help you awaken some awareness about your feet and the way they can affect your:

  1. Balance
  2. Alignment
  3. Feelings of wellbeing

In this short video you will learn how to maximize support from your feet even if you don’t have some of those common problems like pronation, flat feet, or weak ankles.

And we will look at how, regardless of how well you balance, you can take some valuable insights away which will:

  • Deepen your practice
  • Challenge your body to create better balance
  • Even walk with a better connection to the earth; and
  • Learn to retrain those muscles in your feet which, for most people have become a little lazy and underused.

The techniques are simple and easy to apply (with a bit of practice wink ) and can be used by everyone!

So watch it by clicking play on the video below, or, if you prefer, download it in two different formats:

A Transformational Technique For Your Practice, For Your Life

Did you know all our videos now play on iPhones, iPads and iPods?

Hello again,

It’s true, I do believe this particular technique is transformational.

Though it is quick to learn and fundamentally simple, that doesn’t mean you won’t gain deeply satisfying benefits from practicing it.

Strangely enough, it’s considered a little controversial, especially in the yoga community. Go figure.

Anyway, if it helps you, that’s all I care about!

I do know that thousands of my own students have felt liberated from using it and will never go back … and I believe if you practice this you will:

  • Immediately reduce risk of injury and lower wear and tear on your body;
  • Feel better emotionally – more open; more “released”;
  • Enjoy deeper savasanas and breathing in your yoga classes – especially standing;
  • You will breathe more effectively;
  • You will feel and look more confident; and better yet
  • You will move forward in your yoga journey, and I hope, your life.

By the way, if you are one of the few who already practices this technique I’d love to hear from you – I have added extra depth in the video that I hope gives you more inspiration, even if you already know to do this!

You can watch the 18-minute full explanation and demonstration here (just click play on the video below) – or if you prefer, you can download in two different formats:
