Hi, the yoga studio I attend recently replaced the carpeting with a new floor (sealed, grey and microb free). The stench is gone from the studio but now I have severe ankle, knee and hip pain.
My ankles wobble through the whole standing series. At first it did not bother me and I though maybe it might strengthen my legs. But now I am in constant pain.
Ankles – in constant pain
Calves – constant pain, may be tight muscles, or shin splints?
Knees – constant pain
Hips – very tight, constant pain, could this be caused by Triangle? walking funny and feel sometimes like joint in popping out.
Neck and shoulders – very tight
I the pain is so great I have trouble sleeping.
I do feel better after I take a class but then the pains come back in the evening and never has been resolved.
Could the new floor and wobbly ankles be causing all these new issues?
Any suggestions or comments appreciated!
Hi Natalie
Can you tell me if the carpet before had underlay? Was it soft and spongy? Is it that you feel a difference now that the floor has less give? I am trying to paint a picture for myself in order to help you with some ideas? Is the new floor a sealed concrete floor? I know it’s grey but can’t be sure of the nature of the new material.
Now that it has been 3 weeks, is there any change in your response? (Legs, ankles and calves, knees still hurting? Neck and shoulders?)
Namaste
Gabrielle 🙂
