in reply to: Facial Yoga??? #7121

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on that. Just to add to what my personal experience reveals with these exercises after just a few months so far…
When I wake up, as with most people, is when my skin is its puffiest and saggiest. It’s not a happy time of day and my friends giggle and call me the demon until the sleepiness wears off. I’ve noticed that if I do these exercises after I shower (sometimes while I’m in the shower), that swelling under the eyes and saggy feeling is corrected! Because my eyes are so large, the saggy look tends to be a bit more pronounced than in most other people. The under-eye puffiness and the saggy cheeks perk up a bit after being awake for about 2 hours; however, these facial exercises do wonders for a more immediate shake off of that sleepy/dopey look that normally takes me quite a while to be rid of. Mr.Hagerty’s site has thus far proved to be helpful. I would highly recommend it. It’s like a natural face lift and just the tight feeling after the exercises (akin to the firmer feeling of any other freshly toned muscle.
The other thing I’ve noticed about facial exercises…
The chubby little Japanese woman with whom I work who is in her sixties and her face has wrinkled into a perfectly beautiful and seemingly permanent serene smile. I tapped her cheeks the other day while complimenting her smile muscles and they are super firm!! oh the power of smile muscles! Laughing and smiling are great cheek lifters (and spirit lifters) and yes those smiles will put wrinkles into your face at the corners of your mouth, but if you always naturally maintain that smile, then you probably don’t really want those wrinkles to ever go away anyway;)
In summation, facial yoga aside, I’ve learned that just keeping a smile on my face and laughing as much as possible is great natural facial yoga. But the exercises do seem to be helping to do some repair work left over from unhappy/ill times.
