I have been doing bikram for 4 months now,and recently, I am getting so nauseous after class to he point of I can’t do anything but lie down. This is getting in the way of my life! I feel like I am going to puke and extremely “cloudy”. I eat a well balenced diet and take my vitamins. What is wrong?!

if smart water counts then yet on the electrolytes and definitely yes on the breathing. It seems lately too every food upsets my stomach

    Hi Jillian

This obviously worrying for you. What does your doctor or health care practitioner think? It may be time for some kind of check up / blood test: to exclude stuff like any deficiencies or pregnancy or conditions.

In my experience this is not because of the yoga. But as you have already thought (and excluded intuitively) and Amy has commented it could have something to do with your nutrition. Maybe with some more information we can work out what else it could be.

How many classes are you doing? At what time of the day? Does it always happen these days every class or just some of them? From your post it seems that it didn’t happen at all in the beginning but by your wording I am wondering if it has kind of crept up on you in increasing amounts and is now there every class.

I hope together we can find some way towards improving your experience.

    Namaste

smart water IS a replacement…. but NOT the most efficient out there for sure. I was taking something too and found it not enough for my needs and was actually put on IV overnight (some sweat more eat less salt ect) now I take a pill and cut back on water ( know!) and feel MUCH better. Too tummy upset is also a sign of low blood sodium because your kidney and bowels work together to regulate your levels. I would REALLY get your levels checked and see your doctor about (as Gab has said) other problems. Too she is right in saying it is probably NOT the yoga itself but another variable. GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you both for responding so quickly! I know I am sensitive to wheat so I excluded that out of my diet 6 years ago. Sounds strange but chicken and other meats are starting to irritate my stomach more than ever. I was thinking it maybe hormonal because I recently went off birth control. I just feel so confused because there are so many variables! I only take bikram 2 times a week, and I take ii at 9am. It started 3 months ago, but the nauseous feeling usually only happened during class before. Now, I feel nauseous even the day after class, and like today, any solid food makes me nauseous and my mouth is salivating and my “gag reflex” is extremely sensitive. Thanks again for the responses!!!
