I’m in the process of opening a new hot yoga studio and I’m wondering about flooring. I have ruled out carpet or heating flooring. I’m now wondering about concrete. Is that a suitable hot yoga floor? With the different staining options, aesthetically it would work but would it be a safe floor to practice on? There obviously is no give with concrete like you find with a wood floor. Thoughts??

How long have you been teaching hot yoga?

    Hi Diane

When it comes to heating, concrete is too cold. You may find it much more expensive to heat your space. Heat is lost very easily. It’s also VERY hard. There are many things that one can choose, but concrete would be last on my list.

Thanks Gabrielle. I suppose you can’t go wrong with the tried and true wood flooring! Thanks for being so open and non-judgemental about my question. The world’s a better place for people like you.
