I have been going to a chiropractor who told me I have head forward posture and she’s been doing adjustments to correct this. She told me to avoid hyper-extension of my neck so I am wondering about doing the rabbit pose. Could this be bad for my neck in this situation?

I’ve been practicing for 5 weeks and so far I’ve tried to just curl up and do the pose without straining my neck into too much of a curled position. I can’t touch my forehead to my knees but my neck is not very flexible at this point so I don’t try to push it.

    What would you suggest?

    Thanks,

    Joan in Texas

    Hi Joan

I would firstly remove all intention to force your forehead to touch your knees in this pose. Forcing that will cause the compression that your chiropractor is trying to have you avoid.

Please go and read the threads on rabbit. Nutshell: Curl down, top of head to floor, create traction in the arms, minimal weight on the head!

    See you later!

    Namaste

    Thanks, Gabrielle,

My instinct was to,protect my neck and not force it so,it sounds like I’m on the right track.
