    Hi!

Kind of a random question today. I have quite a few tattoos (all were fully healed before ever starting a regular Bikram practice) and was thinking of getting another soon. However, I’m wondering what the effect of sweating that much every single day is going to have on a new and healing tattoo. Does anyone have any input on this? I’m just worried that the sweat coming out of my pores will inevitably push ink out also and cause the tattoo to heal badly. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as tattoos aren’t exactly cheap and I really don’t want to have it touched up multiple times.

    Thanks!
    Amelia

I am a teacher. I got a large tattoo on my stomach, my 5th at that point, when I was still fairly new to my practice. I continured practicing daily, and the healing time was significantly shorter than my previous tattoos. However, I must admit that the two tattoos I’ve had since I began practicing have faded much more quickly than the four I got beforehand.

like what info_o said, yoga makes the healing process faster and the “small wound” created by the tattoo (to get the ink to the dermis) will have healed a couple of hours after. The question would be more of the size and where it is located as yoga requires flexibility so you might want to wait 24 to 48 hours. I read somewhere, someone doing hot yoga had a tattoo and waited 3 days or until it wasn’t peeling anymore. Just put moisturizer in it. Hope this helps 🙂
