    Hello,

Does anyone have any experience either with them self or someone they know that has a thyroid condition and if Hot Yoga has helped them? I don’t have it but an new female friend that I met in a non heated yoga class has it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jackie

Would you be able to share if your friend is hypothyroid or hyperthyroid?

In my experience with my own students, I have had people make improvements with both conditions. I am sure there are many anecdotal stories out there to motivate your friend.

I have a hyperthyroid and it was recommended that I do hot yoga in order to help me. I don’t take meds as I am trying a holistic approach (multiple different meds give me an adverse reaction)I do however take a Iodine supplement along with some enzymes. I started practicing yoga as a way to stay in the gym. Then through wonderful people crossing my path I was turned onto Hot Yoga. I like it a lot and hope that I can go 3-4 days a week. I am more interested in what it will do for my thyroid and my efforts to become pregnant. If I lose weight it will be a bonus! I am also interested to see the effects it will have on my knees and back (sports in my youth have left me a little beat up)I will try and keep you updated as I have now postponed my blood work. I want to see where it will be after a few weeks of hot yoga.

    P.S. how do I post questions I don’t see where I can 🙂
