You don’t need to drink a ton of water right before a morning class if you’ve properly hydrated the day before; it won’t even really help. Just make sure to drink lots of water in the two hours following class and throughout the rest of the day.

One of my teachers always says, “You can come to class exhausted, dehydrated, sore, on an awful day, and you can make it through if you just breathe.” Of course it’s not ideal to be in that situation, but not every day is ideal. Just breathe! ?

A few of the teachers at my studio say “let it go” during the savasana after poses like locust and camel, and I like to say it to myself after struggling in a pose. I can be really hard on myself even though I generally have a strong practice, and I think of “let it go” as acceptance of myself as I am that day.

Sometimes I smile in the mirror during a difficult pose, and I think about happiness. It’s not quite a mantra, but it helps me clear my head of all the noise!

    Namaste ?
