Me too! It’s usually my feet that get cold, though. I always assumed it was due to the studio’s heating system being located in the ceiling. I sometimes practise at another studio where the heating in the floor and don’t seem to have that problem then. For me it’s more the distraction that’s the problem. As soon as I start thinking “Ooh, my feet are a bit cold’ I stop concentrating on my breathing/alignment/whatever else I’m supposed to be focusing on.

in reply to: Recovery time #9032

I did a class at the weekend and for the first time did bounce back relatively soon after the final savasana and felt truly alive rather than approaching death! So progress at last. Only thing is I’m not sure what was different to all the times I’ve taken ages to recover. Gabrielle, I don’t think it’s my breathing (slow and steady) or heart rate (ditto). I drink loads of water and keep a coconut water for afterwards (delicious treat), which always picks me up. It’s not really an issue, I’m just bushed!

Another Newbie. Started out with self-underpant soccer shorts, but can’t be doing with having to hike the wet lose bits off my thighs once head to knee starts. Now wear skin tight black Nike lycra running shorts which work just fine. Don’t ride up, feel like I’m not wearing anything and as I go commando, they keep everything (including my modesty) in place. Only tip is, whatever you wear, it has to be black or navy! Wearing white shorts without anything underneath is a mistake you’ll only make once! 😉
