I can also vouch for the saline nasal sprays, I have sensitive sinuses as well and find that using the spray before class really helps to open my airways and flush everything out.

Hmm. Depending on how exactly you injured the muscle, I would say it should be at least improving by now. Maybe go see a physio? if there is some soft tissue damage they will be able to recommend what to avoid!

Wow so glad someone else has experienced this! I went through a phase where every class I would have to pee after the belly down series, especially after bow posture due to the pressure on my tiny bladder!

I found my teachers quite sympathetic however, I would simply get up silenty while others were in savasana and make a face and point to my belly! Hey, if you have to go you have to go.

These days I have figured out that if I go straight before class I can usually make it through.

Someone I know had some really great success with “Breathe Right” strips, I know they help me with running to get more air in through my nasal passages!

They are like sticky strips you put over the bridge of your nose to open your airways up. Have a look at the chemist, usually they are marketed to help people stop snoring!

    Hi all,

Thought I’d add my 2 cents as I am just currently recovering from illness.

The general advice is that once your fever has gone you are not likely to be contagious, and as I am on the final stretch of my bronchitis and have been itching to exercise I headed back to class last night for the first time in 2 weeks.

I’m so glad I went because the hot humid air, focus on breathing and all of the standing series really opened up my lungs and made me feel so so much better. It was great for my aching muscles as well, especially camel and the other back bends.

I also had the best sleep I’ve had in ages.
