    Hello Gotta Run!

I am a Hot Yoga teacher who also runs. I actually became more serious about yoga while training fo my 1st marathon a few years ago. I can tell you from personal
experience that your breathing, flexibility and stamina will all improve. Good luck!

    Hi Gabrielle,

I will try both versions this evening in class and report back.

    Thank you!

    Hi Janet,

I’ve often found that the lines are very blurred when it comes to the emotional and physical aspects of the practice. Just the fact that you are listening to yourself and your body are such huge steps. This kind of self-realization is essential to growing in your practice. I’m about a year into it myself and also teaching for the last few months. Within that time, I have had several emotional and physical issues to deal with. Each one has taught me a little something about myself both inside the room and out. Maybe this is a good opportunity to look at the way you are inside and outside of class. Personally, I found that I always felt like I had to be pushing – moving forward, never stopping, over-doing it. I’ve started to accept the fact that I enjoy my practice (and life) so much more when I take the time to be present, relax and just breathe. I’m still working on it, but it’s getting better every day :-). Good luck to you on your journey as well!

    Hi Georgette,

I just want to applaud you for taking the first steps. Every journey has to start somewhere! I would suggest checking online for yoga studios near you. Also, ask around. Talk to friends and family to see if any of them have found a studio that they like. If you’re going to make this commitment, you want to find a studio that you really connect with.

    Good luck!!!

This is a funny topic, especially given the fact that I have the same issue! I guess I hadn’t really made the connection. I live in the mountains where things are very dry to begin with. My boyfriend had begun to refer to them as stigmata as well! I agree with the post that it is a small price to pay for all of the benefits I have gained. I’ll wear them as my Badge of Honor now 🙂
