    Hi Gabrielle,

thank you for replying. The investigations are two-fold. One due to a burst facial artery I had in early 2009 and had surgery to resolve (it worked), but I think the chronic one-sided sinus problem (on the other side from the surgery) started at this time and there may have been damage to my nasal canal as both nostrils were packed to stop the bleeding. I have also had v strange sensations on the same side as the sinus problem for about four years, like a wriggling worm (please don’t worry, I know there isn’t really a worm there!) which seems to impact on vision, hearing, gives head pain, dizziness and nausea at times which leaves me exhausted. I have had only two very brief occasions, of about an hour, this year when I have been clear of the basic sensation. Have had audiology and opthalmology investigations, CT scan and MRI, with nothing found. I am due to have a further neurology appointment and I have made an appointment with my dentist to check out possible temporomandibular joint problems.I know it definitely is not a stress problem as I’m not under any particular stress, only the anxiety from the condition. My blood pressure and blood glucose are fine. I am managing to complete all classes I go to (3-4 per week) and actually there were signs last week that some of the asanas, namely those that involve lying down facing the floor, might be shifting the sinus problem briefly.

As far as my yoga goes though, it is the impact on my breathing, therfore the amount of oxygen I take in is limited, causing easy exhaustion and I think dizziness. Thanks again for your time.

Hi Gabrielle, and thanks for the advice. I’ve been on holiday since I posted my question but will put your suggestions into practice and see how it goes when I return to work this coming week.

    Best wishes, Paul

PS: I have received my yoga master class whilst away as well. Excellent; a very comprehensive and easy to use reference. I’m sure I will be using a lot.
