I realize that this is an old thread but it came up when I searched for help on knee prosthesis.  I recently started hot yoga lite & really have no experience with any kind of yoga.  I thought hot yoga would be good for losing weight, getting in shape & improved flexibility.  I am unfortunately  I had a knee replacement 10 years ago & I have some limitatons. Quite honestly I’m not sure if I will ever be able to sit on my heels, my knee replacement just doesn’t bend that much.  I also have trouble being on all fours on the yoga mat in class because it hurts my knee.  Is there any kind of knee pad that could be used for those poses without affecting my alignment too much.

I’ve never had any prior experience working out in the heat.  My studio offers some lite versions of hot yoga that are at a 90 degree temperature & a 50% humidity.  I’ve been taking those to first get acclimated to that heat & then thought I’d progress up to the 98 degree heat & 60% humidity in a few weeks.  Is that the right approach or with that cause two different acclamations?  is it better if I just go straight to the 98 degree heat?

    Thanks!
