I have a difficult time standing for the minute standing poses … I work out on the off-yoga days and was wondering if there were leg exercises (machines) that would help strengthen the leg specifically for Bikram. Thanks

You know, the best thing you can do is DO the exercises with intention. When your legs disengage then reengage them. One really just has to do the time, build the stamina. There are plenty of gym junkies who go to hot yoga who need to do exactly the same thing as you.

I agree, and would like to add that you can practice “locking the knee” (and leg) at all sorts of times. For example, when waiting at a deli counter or in line somewhere, I take a minute to lock the leg like I do in class. You can therefore get tons of practice in between classes and build up that leg strength without having to do anything fancy.
