in reply to: Knee pain #9691

    Hi Gabrielle

Yes, the instructors always tell us to bring our knees together. There’s no pain in that first position, it’s once I start the extension and there is the tension between my foot trying to move in one direction and my hand pulling it in another.

I’ve never had any other pain in my knees, in or outside of the studio. I’m totally fine in other poses, like Fixed Firm pose. The last class I did I could feel it a bit in Triangle pose, but nothing major like in the Bow poses. I’ve done a lot of dancing in my life, so my body is used to exercise, but I have never had pain like this before.

I’m not sure where exactly in the knee – I’ll try and pay more attention in the next class.

I have read elsewhere that I need to focus on kicking upwards rather than backwards as well. Do you think this is valid?

    Thanks

    Tania
