Thanks for the quick reply Robert. I have looked at Ebay.ca and Amazon.com. I just find it ridiculous to have to buy such item online instead of local retail store.

I guess this one and similiar ones will do the job.

I have a hard time finding Speedo lycra swim shorts as Robert suggested. Does anyone in Canada know where can I buy such shorts?

Is there any kind of shorts that doesn’t get wet and short enough on the thigh but not be offensive? My cotton shorts are wet and sticking to thigh and butt. It makes the all standing poses uncomforable. I need to adjust my shorts everytime I do standing pose that require widen my legs.

What about Emergen-C? There are only three favors that mention electrolytes. Others don’t mention electrolytes. Is that mean those without is not as good? Also, direction says to fix with 4-6oz of water. That is not a lot. Should I add the dosage to two pack before and two after class?

Speaking of cocnut water, how much should one drink before and after class? I assume a 330ml carton is good enough?

I am starting to do cardio resistance training for 30 mins Mon-Fri at 5am. Get back to sleep for an hour or so then wake up for work. That is all I am doing for now trying to lose weight and inches. On Sat I do a 90min session of bikram yoga. Is this enough? I am doing the Circuit Training DVD that came with the package as shown on the bottom of the component page.

I too have problem doing the first Standing Deep Breathing and the last Blowing In Firm exercise. I can’t seen to make the “weird” noise with the rest of the class.

Is there other drink/food to take other than coconut water? Coconut water is quite expensive and I can’t find anywhere that sell it in bulk. I read that an apple is also good for after yoga.

I remember I was feeling cold all night even after taking a hot shower. I took my first class at 4pm.

How do you prepare for back2back class and 2 classes with breaks in between? I imagine one has to drink double quantity of water. Can I eat during breaks?

I am also considering doing double, but not back to back class. I mean class say at 10am and another at 2pm or later. Due to work schedule and other commitment, I can only practice on Saturdays or Stat holiday, maybe Sundays. If I do doubles and maybe one on Sunday, that means I am practicing three times a week. Do you think this is ideal or not and doable? Or is it better to do every other day – mon, wed and fri? But it is just impossible due to schedule.

Now how do I prepare for doubles (morning and afternoon class). Do I need to drink double amount of water if I do back to back class. What about morning, break and then afternoon class? Can I eat between class?

I have asked the staff and they don’t recommand doing it unless I am ready for it.

Yes, it closed a year ago this week, October 30th! They have two others studios, one in Kits and one in the West End, and I have no idea when or if they will re-open a third.

I have switched to the Richmond studio and love it (different owners than Cambie) – for many reasons – consistent heat, high ceilings, microbiotic flooring, 30-day challenges, pot-luck get-togethers, supplyin of towels and mats, etc.

Good to hear someone from local. Is this a Vancouver/Canadian forum?

I am currently on a two-week trial at Bikram Richmond. I only been to once. I love to go more but just impossible.

Where do you live? What other studio have you tried? What package are you currently in?

    bonmar,

You mention your frequent Cambie studio closed. Are you in Vancouver? If yes, do you know when and where they will re-open/re-locate to?

Hi everyone. I am a newbie on bikram and please excuse my English. I went to my first class and didn’t find the heat unbearable. I felt dizzy in two occasions, but I was able to continue and complete the class without resting. I was able to do most of the poses except for pose that require me to keep my leg straight while touching certain body parts, bending backward. For some reason I had a headache before class. During the class it was gone, and then it came back after class. I have some questions and hope someone can enlight me. My main goal is to lose weight and inches around my mid section.

Due to work schedule and other commitment, I can only commit to do once or twice a week (Sat & Sun and/or stat holiday) at best. Am I still going to see result or is it a waste of time and might as well not doing it. I am thinking of doing back to back class or even a morning class follow by an hour or two break and then an afternoon class. That will be three classes in two days.

Does keeping the stomach tight while doing pose really help to burn the fat in the tummy and work the abs? I have yet to understand the benefit of the breathing exercise. What does it do or has anything to do with flatten the tummy/burn fat around that section?

Does it make a difference between doing the first morning class or last evening class? I mean doing it in the morning means you haven’t eat anything heavy yet so you are using stored fat for energy. If I take the evening class, I’ll be burning calories from the food I eat during the day. That means I am no burning stored fat. Is this concept correct?

I am trying to do P90X’s Ab ripper and some Insanity exercise.
