I am not doing a 30 day challenge per say. However, for the past month or so I have been going everyday (sometimes more than once a day). Simply because it feels so good, and the more I go the more I want to go. With that all of the progress I have been making is very motivational. I should say I’m not doing strictly Bikram. I switch between Bikram, Hot Vinyasa, and a combination of the two. I am enjoying this new lifestyle, and have never felt better! Are there any reasons why it may not be healthy to go everyday? Does my body actually need some time off?

    Thanks,

    Michele

Thanks for the tip! Relaxing my shoulders does help with my back. My neck is still uncomfortable, but I’m hoping that I just need to adapt to the pose. Thanks again!!!

I had my hands on my hips. I actually don’t feel any back pain during the floor bow. Only discomfort I feel is in my knees. I’ll try the camel today with relaxed shoulders, and see if that helps. Thanks for your input!

I had been feeling pain in my neck and middle of my back during half moon. Then I took the advice you had given someone else about relaxing the shoulders with a micro bend in the elbows. This helped so much! I no longer feel pain during that pose. And can actually feel the difference. Now I feel I am lifting up more than back (so thanks for that tip 🙂 ).

During camel I do find it hard to surrender my neck. I also feel a lot of pain in the middle of my back. Unfortunately, its been so long since I’ve even tried the pose that I can’t give to much information. But I can say that the pain was still present even when I eased up a bit.

My arms and shoulders are just fine. I wish I could give you more information about my back and neck problems, but I’ve been to many doctors over the years. None of whom could tell me what’s wrong with me.

    Thanks,

    Michele

I was having the same problem up until two weeks ago. It may sound strange, but staying in the hot room in the corpse pose for about ten minutes after class has ended has really helped me. It sounds counterintuitive I know! But now instead of walking out all tired and spent, I walk out feeling refreshed 🙂

As a busty woman, I have also struggled for a long time finding a good bra. I finally found one that is perfect! It is the Ta Ta Tamer at lululemon. I am a DDD, and wear this bra for yoga, spinning, and running. Its extremely supportive, and keeps me perfectly in place. It also has cross straps, so you can wear with almost any tank.

Thank you for your response! I went to class yesterday, and it felt soo much easier than last week. I was hydrating hours before the class, as opposed to during the class. Also I think I was much more focused in this class. So I guess for me its about still adjusting to the heat, mind over matter, and hydrating at the right times. While I’m here I have one other question. I am going to yoga 3 times a week. How often should I be going to benefit most from my classes?

I must say, this is a wonderful site! I’m new to hot yoga; started about three months ago, and absolutly love it! I’ve never been good with heat, but I’ve finally come to cope and finally enjoy it. In the last month my adaption to the heat has allowed me to go through the entire classes without sitting down at all. The past two weeks, we have had very warm weather ( in the 70’s on average), and now I feel like I have taken a major leap back! Over this time I find myself needing to sit for at least 15 minutes. I even had to walk out for a few minutes on Thursday, which I have never done. I am almost about my water consumption, so I don’t think dehydration is a factor here. The thing is I love my practice and do not want to give it up, but the warmer weather is here to stay 🙂 Does anyone have any advice on coping with the hotter hot room in the summer?
